ABOUT MASON

Mason was born in Matthews, NC.

He attended Back Creek Christian Academy (now Christ Classical) in Charlotte from TK - 7th grade. InKindergarten, he asked his parents if he could play Upward Basketball at the church.  His mom and dad explained team sports to him and told him he could, but this was a season commitment and if he didn’t like it, he could not quit until the end of the season - he didn’t have to play again the next year but he would have to finish the season.  This was the start of his love for basketball!  He played Upward for 5 years and started playing school basketball in the 4th grade on the Juniors team and then on to the Middle school team in 7th grade at BCCA.  Mason was named to the All-conference team each year at BCCA.  Mason and his family moved to Lexington in 2020 during Covid and he attended Sheets Memorial his 8th -10th grade years.  He played soccer, baseball and basketball at Sheets. In 2023, after his Sophomore basketball season, he was selected to the NCCSA 1A All Region team and was invited to the NCCSA All Star game and also reached 500 career points.  Also during his Sophomore year Mason was inducted into the National Honor Society for his achievements in academics and service.  In the fall of 2023, for his Junior year, Mason moved to Union Grove Christian to complete his high school education.

During the summers, Mason grew up at the lake and learned how to wakeboard at the age of 5.  He started competing in local and regional competitions at the age of 8.  At the age of 9, Mason was named to the Charlotte Ski Boats Dream Team competition team. During his last year of competition in 2022, Mason placed 1st in North Regionals, 3rd in South Regionals, 4th in Nationals and 7th in Worlds in his division.  Mason also competes locally on cable at Elevated Wake Park in Lexington.
